Extremely small portions.
Extremely expensive considering the portions.
Tooo many rules of the owner while ordering food and whats up with the lights there. Are they trying to save money.
Service not too great.

Okay so I went to Taj Mahal a few weeks ago, upon many a recommendation from friends that it was the place to be for great Indian cuisine. Unfortunately I found very little appealing and great about this place. It was very cold ( I had to wear my coat the whole time), our server (obviously one of the owners) was very rude and condecending towards my girlfriend (we wanted to move tables to be warmer and he said no, even though it was dead). The layout and look of the place was horrible, our menu was destroyed and stained and when I asked for a seperate wine menu, it had various wines crossed out in pen. The food was good, but nothing exceptional and the service was slow and very unorganized. To be honest it was very bad, and this was on a friday night, when really you should be on your game. Will I return? Maybe, but to consider this place great and one of saskatoon's finest is something many should reconsider.

Great food and fantastic service. I have to agree that the portions are a little small and I'm not morbidly obese.

Fantabolous and amazingly tastey food. Don't know what the guy from 2007-07-01 is talking about, but I think he has his restaurants mixed up. I think this person wighs like 500 lbs and eats too much as I thought the portions very very satisfactory.

Food is good, no question.

But the portions are extremely small and very overpriced.
Also I recommend that you check your bill before paying, our last 5 visits have had discrepancies between the bill and the posted prices, there have been dishes we were charged for that were not on the bill and they seem to be charging gst on their liquor tax.
All errors in billing are in the houses favour so there is something fishy going on.

We will not return.
There are many other options out there and better things to do with our restaurant dollar.

I went to Taj Mahal in Saskatoon for the first time a few weeks ago. No beating around the bush, it was absolutely fantastic. The owner and the servers were extremely knowledgeable, patient, and helped me and my boyfriend pick our meals. The service was exceptional, the food exquisite with perfect flavour, spice, doneness etc. I think I have a new favorite restaurant, I will be back very soon!!!
