Otowa has for over a decade been a favourite spot of ours for a special dinner or a delicious lunch. Tonight we were a party of three celebrating my husband's birthday there because we are never disappointed with the fantastic food and nice quiet atmosphere. After ordering, we were told that it was a busier than usual night, which is fine with me, I don't mind waiting a bit for a delicious meal, however after ordering we sat for over an hour with nothing on our table. No water, no tea, no food.
Our table was right in the middle so the waiters had to walk past us each time they went to another table, and all three of them continually avoided eye contact with us, and ignored us when we tried to ask for a refill on our tea. To finally get a waitress' attention I had to practically shout across the restaurant to ask for more tea, and that was the only time it was refilled.
After an hour and twenty minutes, we got our food and it was as delicious as always, by the time we finished eating, the restaurant had cleared out a fair bit, so we decided to order some tempura ice cream for dessert. Half an hour later I had had enough, and the waitstaff was still ignoring us, so I walked back to the waiter's station to ask if our desserts were being prepared, because at that point, I would rather have just left and gone somewhere else for dessert.
I was told that they were almost done, so I sat back down and we decided to give them another five minutes before leaving. The desserts finally arrived with only 10 seconds to spare. All this while the waitstaff was ignoring us, and were milling around their station discussing which table was table number 13. We never got a glass of water, another refill on our tea or an apology.
I am most upset about this experience because this was one of my very favourite places in Saskatoon, and I really don't feel like going back there again.
I will miss you most of all, Chop Chop roll.

Good food.Great sushi! But do not expect fast service, food does take awhile to come out but its worth the wait!

Great find! On a random walk about! Love it! Feel bad that not everyone has experienced this place at its finest.

The food was alright. Lots on the menu to choose from, but dear god they are sllllloooooowww. I kid you not, we didn't get our starters until at least an hour after we ordered them.

This is the best sushi place in town. I found the atmosphere to be welcoming and very friendly, the servers were friendly and assertive. I felt that all of my needs were met. I was very impressed with the extensive menu. The large selection of entree's as well as sushi made it difficult to choose. I tried a little of everything and was blown away! The authentic atmosphere is a bonus. I highly recommend this restaurant. You can't get sushi like this anywhere else on the prairies.

Worst sushi I have ever had. I have not been back to try anything else.

Won't be going back again. Arrived and was seated at 645 with 5 other people for a birthday party. Orders were taken at 730. Food did not arrive until 845 (despite the fact that two groups that came in after us received two courses in this time). Were not apologized to at all, nor were we offered compensation. In fact, the wait staff acted very snobby when we questioned any of this. The food was mediocre for the wait and the price (which, unfortunately was very high). Dishes weren't cleared from the table for at least an hour (which was the time it took in between seeing servers). Ended up charging us a $14 gratuity fee because 2 more friends showed up (who didn't eat anything), putting our group at the 8 person limit for a 10% gratuity charge as stated on the menu. Snobby (lack of) service, sub par food, and an expensive menu. How can you go wrong?

I only had the sushi and tempura, but I can recommend neither. The sushi rice was wet, actually left liquid on my plate. I could not even eat it, and I am a sushi fanatic. The tempura was acceptable, but the batter was heavy. Besides that, it was some of the most expensive sushi I've found, and that's compared to rates in Calgary and Vancouver. Maybe the other food it good, but in my opinion, avoid the sushi.

I've been to all the sushi restaurants around this town, and this one takes the cake. The service is awesome, and the food is fantastic. Try the deep fried squid for an appetizer. I had the maki roll, and it was awesome. Give this restaurant a shot!! The service and food will make you want to come back for more!

Great place to go for lunch but supper gets expensive. Last few years as prices go up quality has been going down.

Definetly the best sushi Ive ever had. The Cherry Blossom Roll is my favorite, along with the Charcoaled Chicken Teriyaki.

Good food, excellent staff.

My wife and I had gone to this place on the advice of some people we know. They said the Sushi was great....Well it sucked, stinky sushi is not for us.

Teriyaki was good, but not the sushi.

by far the best sushi I have ever had! Great staff!
