I had high hopes going here I had read and heard good things about their breakfasts. So, about two weeks ago (when my regular breakfast haunt was closed for summer vacation) I stopped in with my family to give it a try.

The wait staff was very nice, and the cafe itself was small and intimate both things I appreciate. The other patrons were also fairly pleasant, moving aside to give the six of us access to tables we could push together.

The food, however, was nothing special. I tried the Montezuma's Breakfast in hopes of finding something tasty and spicy, but it was just drowned in hot sauce. The scrambled eggs were rubbery and then poached eggs were sloppy. Worst of all in a small cafe, the hash browns were from the freezer, and they were undercooked to the point of being nearly inedible. The best meal at the table was the egg/bacon/English muffin sandwich, which cost 3x as much as a McMuffin for little extra value.

The meals did include tea/coffee, which was a nice change, but the prices overall were barely lower than what you'd pay at a larger 'Family-style' restaurant. Overall, I was quite disappointed and will not be returning.

The caswell burger is fantastic i highly recommend it

Excellent breakfast inexpensive Owner's operate business & are on first name basis with many of the customers. Be warned though, go here & you may not enjoy anywhere else ever again...
